Anna Smyrk
With a voice described as ‘truly astonishing’ by Rolling Stone, Anna Smyrk is a powerful singer and songmaker from Naarm (Melbourne, Australia).
Her songs are anthemic indie bombshells, pairing vulnerable lyrics with explosive arrangements and undeniable hooks. The last 12 months have been massive for Anna, with highlights including supporting Birds of Tokyo and Tim Rogers, touring North America and Europe, official showcases at NXNE(Canada), Folk Alliance International (USA) and Live at Heart (Sweden) and recording a new EP in Nashville with award-winning producers Jake Finch and Collin Pastore (Lucy Dacus).
The first single from the new record, ‘I Don’t Want to Meet Your Mother.’ was added to Apple Music’s New Indie playlist across multiple territories and ‘The Runner’ was added to MTV in Germany.
Anna has toured widely throughout Australia including gracing festival stages at Port Fairy Folk Festival, Sip & Savour, Marysville Music Festival & Woodford Folk Festival.
In 2024 Anna will be touring her new EP in Australia, NZ, Europe, Canada, North America and UK.
Anna was one of the very few Australian acts who were selected to play at SXSW in Austin, Texas in 2024 and created a lot of buzz and booking interest. She has just finished first US tour and gearing up for another one later in 2024. She is also in the studio currently recording her debut album.
